An oasis from the hustle of the city, Museum of Brisbane is a contemporary space on the rooftop of City Hall. With a bundle of kid-friendly exhibitions, the museum brings the city’s vibrant art, culture and history to life through workshops, tours, talks and MoB Kids.
The Museum believes that art, culture and history should be experienced, encouraging families to think boldly, to share ideas and challenge perceptions. From co-creating with artists to reflecting on contemporary identity, the goal is to ensure you have a memorable and insightful experience every visit.
Any day in the Museum you may find Traditional Owners sharing local lore, an artist-in-residence creating new work, a performance in one of the exhibitions, and educators nurturing curiosity and creativity.
Need a little guidance on your visit? The guides at Museum of Brisbane are among Brisbane’s best storytellers and can take you on a tour of City Hall and to the top of the iconic Clock Tower. These tours blend historical fact with tales about some of the city’s best-known personalities, anecdotes and trivia, and are a great way for the kids to get to learn more about the city.
At the end of a culture-filled day, the much-loved MoB Shop is well worth a visit. Filled with bespoke ranges of jewellery, fashion accessories, homewares and books, from artists, designers, writers, artisans and small creative businesses of Brisbane and Southeast Queensland, it’s the perfect place for a unique gift or keepsake.
“We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of Brisbane and surrounds, the Yuggara, Turrbal, Jinibara, Quandamooka and neighbouring clan groups. We are privileged to work closely with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders, artists, curators, writers and storytellers to share and celebrate the rich knowledge, art and histories of our First Nations communities.”
