Family friendly resort on the Sunshine Coast

The well-known family friendly resort on the Sunshine Coast, Big 4 Resort, has recently made the move to become an independent resort, now called Forest Glen Holiday Resort.

“We still have the same great facilities, nothing has changed other than the name!” explained Leanne Barnes, Office Manager at Forest Glen Holiday Resort. “Rather than being a member of Big 4, we are simply now running independently under our own name.”

And the good news for local families is that the resort will continue to offer the popular $10 resort day pass.

“For $10 per head, families can come and use all the resort’s facilities for the day,” said Leanne. “There’s no time limit – you can come in the morning for a swim or game of tennis, share a BBQ lunch, and hang around for an open-air movie in the evening!”

The facilities at Forest Glen Holiday Resort offer something for every age and interest.

“Kids love the giant bouncing cushion, and the heated swimming pool with water slide is also very popular,” said Leanne. “We also have mini golf, outdoor chess, tennis courts, a basketball court, a playground, a games room, an indoor and outdoor movie theatre, as well as plenty of space to kick a ball, play and relax. We also have bird feeding each day at 3pm, when we feed the wild lorikeets at the park.”

The on-site restaurant continues to offer the same delicious meals, or guests are welcome to bring their own food into the resort. “We have BBQs around the park that are free to use, so families can bring their own food for the day, and our beautiful on-site restaurant is open for dinner, if families want to stay for an evening meal.”

The resort is very popular, both for interstate visitors, but also for local families to host birthday parties, family gatherings, or simply as a place for families to get away for the day and spend time together.

“We love to be that place that families come to enjoy time together and reconnect,” Leanne said. “Where kids can play and have stacks of fun, and the parents know they are safe.”
