The first thing you notice about the Buderim Tavern are the awesome views out to the sea. The second is that the kids are being kept very busy! There is an outdoor playground and an indoor playground with games, a mini cinema and climbing frame. They even have a visiting fairy on the weekends who will entertain them with face painting, crafts, balloon animals and plaster painting. The kids menu features plenty of favourites including chicken nuggets.

Nicklin Way, Kawana
The outside playground is the star attraction of the hotel as far as kids go. A great fenced space where they will be happily entertained while you enjoy a nice glass of something cold. There is also a large blackboard outside and inside, another whole area for the kids, complete with mini cinema playing movies throughout the day and PlayStations for the older kids. Also, on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, there is also face painting and a jumping castle (check website for details). Kids eat free on Mondays and the menu includes mini steak and fish and chips.

Set in lovely grounds that extend over three acres, the Apollonian Hotel offers a beautiful colonial style setting for your family meal. Head there on a Sunday and enjoy a spit roast prepared in their rustic bush kitchen, complete with damper. The kids will enjoy exploring the grounds, and with entertainment throughout the week, including impromptu jam sessions from the locals, you are sure to find something to keep the whole family entertained.

Main Street, Montville
After a stroll through the beautiful hilltop village of Montville, head to this black and white Tudor-esque building for a great family-friendly dinner. The beer garden is large and well maintained with colourful flowers dotted throughout. The kids can dance to the live al fresco music on the weekends and the staff have even been known to hand out free bubbles to the kids on entry. Kids meals include bolognaise and battered fish and chips.

A lovely relaxed restaurant with a large deck and kids play area featuring an outdoor playground, arcade games and movies. The kids menu is extensive with 12 options available including chicken parmi, fish of the day, pizza and pasta. There is also kids face painting on Fridays and Saturdays (check website for details).

The Kallangur Tavern has a great outdoor playground for the kids as well as another indoor section, with arcade games and amusement machines. They guarantee their kids menu will please the fussiest of little eaters, and they are right. They can choose from a wide selection of meals including bolognaise, mini cheeseburger and chicken dippers. They also host a themed kids party once a month – past events have included a pyjama party and superhero party.

The Mango Hill Tavern really excels when it comes to space for the children to relax or play. It has a great indoor and outdoor kids play area with toys, computer games, a television, outdoor slide and climbing area. The climbing area is fenced off so you can enjoy a relaxing lunch with peace of mind, knowing the kids are having a blast. Kids meals include macaroni and cheese, beef sliders and cheerio’s and chips and come with a free drink, ice cream or frog in a pond (chocolate frog in jelly).

Wow! A huge outdoor shaded playground awaits the kids at this tavern, which will keep them playing for hours. When they tire of that one, they can head indoors to the kids games room.
