About Us
Kids on the Coast is Queensland’s longest-established regional parenting magazine, and the only free full-colour glossy publication of its size and quality in the market. Over the last seven years, Kids on the Coast has built an enviable reputation as the favourite family magazine of thousands of families, and hundreds of local and national advertising clients.
Popular regular sections, a great combination of both light-hearted and serious articles, and local up-to-date content means our magazine is not just a ‘throwaway’ like so many other free publications – our reader surveys have confirmed that most readers pass it on to family and friends to read, and like to keep previous issues for future reference.
Kids on the Coast is published by Things 4 Kids Pty Ltd, a Queensland company that is owned and run by local parents who understand the needs and wants of your target market. We are justifiably proud to be able to provide families with a means of gaining valuable information to help them along their parenting journey.

“Where do I start when talking about Kids on the Coast. I am a mother of two, and moved to the Sunshine Coast from Brisbane just over a year ago. Before we moved here, my mum used to collect copies of the magazine for me – it is filled with so much information! Great articles that are relevant to parents regardless of where they live, and others that are specific for the coast. The calendar is invaluable as a busy parent.” Peta, Sunshine Coast
“This magazine is fantastic. I now have to get copies for my kids so we can have one each. They are always wanting to enter the competitions and I don’t want mine cut up. I love the feature articles, recipes, health and natural health articles.“ Tina, Sunshine Coast
“As a new arrival to the Gold Coast, I was absolutely thrilled when I picked up a copy of your mag at the local shopping centre. I had been wondering where/how I could find out about things like playgroups and library story times and your magazine gives me that and much more! The calendar and community directory are absolutely fantastic and I love the helpful articles. Well done, and thank you so much!” E. Galo, Gold Coast

“This is the best parenting magazine I’ve read. I’ve just moved from Sydney where there is a multitude of magazines aimed at parents that don’t compare to the quality editorial and information. The magazine is easy to read, glossy, colourful, well laid out. Congratulations!” Suzanne, Sunshine Coast
“We are always looking for things to do with our seven-year-old daughter, and your magazine is a great source of ideas as well as interesting articles.” A. Priem, Gold Coast

“I picked up an edition of Kids on the Coast magazine at my son’s daycare centre. I just thought I would let you know I love it ! It is great to read about events and websites for kids in our region, as well as informative articles. I am a voluntary magazine editor for a statewide adoption group; IAFQ (International Adoptive Families of Queensland Inc) We have many events held throughout the state all year round and this will be a great magazine to place our events in. I can’t wait for the next edition of Kids on the Coast.” Rianne
“Firstly I wanted to say that your magazine is WONDERFUL! It is great to have a local magazine for the parents of the Sunshine Coast that includes great articles as well as a list of local events.” Rachael, Sunshine Coast

“As a new advertiser I experienced excellent service with Kids on the Coast. I was so happy with their artwork, that I had my graphic artist model other Jam Berry advertisements from the artwork created by Kids on the Coast. I also received a greater return on investment than from other dominant puclications in Sydney and Melbourne. Thank you so much!” Jamberry. www.jamberry.com.au
