MYSTERY ISLANDS’ 2ND BIRTHDAY PARTY

Where: Maroochy RSL, Memorial Ave, Maroochydore

SUNSHINE COAST WORK AT HOME MUMS

Where: Kawana Family Centre, Iluka Ave, Buddina

Sunshine Coast Work at Home Mum’s, or SCWAHMS, is a great resource for Sunshine Coasters to support a WAHM, and in turn help the community by keeping our money here. Kids Welcome! Tea, coffee and morning tea provided

GREENZONE DISCO

MOTHER’S DAY CRAFT WEEKEND

Come and make something special for your Mum at Mystery Island’s Mother’s Day Craft weekend. Bring your favourite pictures of your Mum and decorate a photo frame or mini flip-flop photo album for her.

PLAYSCHOOL CONCERT

IMMANUEL ARTS FESTIVAL

Where: 126-142 Wises Road, Buderim

The Immanuel Arts Festival is the largest of its kind on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast and has a proud 30 year tradition of showcasing the artistic talents of our region. The festival promotes visual, creative and performance art within the Sunshine Coast community. In 2011 it is shaping up to be even bigger with a prize pool of over $5000.

NATIONAL WALK SAFELY TO SCHOOL DAY

Where: In all Primary Schools around Australia

Walk Safely to School Day promotes the vitally important message: Active Kids are Healthy Kids. The event encourages parents, carers and their children to build regular walking to and from school into their daily routine. It also encourages parents to drive less aiming to decrease dangerous vehicle congestion around schools and reduce carbon emissions from idling cars.

MAMMA’S MARKET

Where: Buderim Wall Memorial Hall, Cnr Main St and Gloucester Rd, Buderim

When: 9am-1pm

Mamma’s Market is a high quality boutique style monthly market with a focus on handmade, unique items and services catering to pregnancy, baby, children and family as well as delightful homewares! STEAM TRAIN SUNDAYS

Where: Departing from South Brisbane Station

When: 10.10am, 11.40am and 1.10pm

Departing from Roma Street station or South Brisbane station, a magnificently restored Queensland Rail steam train will take passengers on a one hour round journey through Brisbane’s suburbs, passing landmarks and river crossings. Steam Train Sunday will run regularly from May to December 2011.

STATE OF ORIGIN - GAME 1

ADVENTURES OF ALVIN SPUTNIK: DEEP SEA EXPLORER

Where: The Events Centre, 20 Minchinton St, Caloundra

When: 10:00am

A visually inspired solo show, created and performed by Tim Watts, who employs a unique blend of mime, puppetry, live and recorded music, and animation to present an exploration of the next and oldest frontier: the deep blue sea.

SAIL MOOLOOLABA 2011

Where: Waters off Mooloolaba Beach, Mooloolaba

When: Regatta racing - June 4 from 11.30am, June 5 from 10am. Sailability for kids with disabilities - June 7, 9-12noon.
Radio Controlled Yachting - June 7, 1-4pm. Match Racing - June 9, 1-5pm

Sail Mooloolaba is an annual sailing event bringing together national and state junior, youth and senior sailors racing dinghies and keel boats in a two-day regatta on the waters off Mooloolaba beach.

SUNSHINE COAST WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY FESTIVAL

CALOUNDRA FORESHORE FUN RUN

The 10km Foreshore Run takes entrants through the spectacular scenery at Kings and Shelly Beaches, before climbing over the Moffat Headland to the finish line. There is also a testing 3km Fun Run for those who prefer a shorter distance. All funds raised will benefit the Parents and Friends Association of local primary school Our Lady of the Rosary.
