Heavy storms on the Sunshine Coast did little to dampen the spirit of holiday makers during BIG4 Forest Glen Holiday Resort’s charity weekend.

More than 42 campsites were booked out last Friday 16 November for the annual Camp and Care with BIG4 event – Australia’s BIGgest night of charitable camping. BIG4 Forest Glen Holiday Resort encouraged locals to enjoy a night under the stars for a nominal $20 site fee, to be donated by the park to the Coastal Caring Clowns.

The proceeds from campsite fees, a BBQ sponsored by Trayon Campers and pancake breakfast totalled $1172.00 which was presented to the Coastal Caring Clowns last week.

The Coastal Caring Clowns are a group of volunteer clowns who visit nursing homes, hospitals and respite centres on the Sunshine Coast, turning many frowns upside down along the way. Six of the clowns visited the park bringing plenty of sunshine and laughter as they entertained children and adults alike.

“We are delighted to have been able to support such a wonderful cause during BIG4’s annual Camp and Care event,” said Park Manager Leanne Barnes. “The kids loved seeing the clowns and the pancake breakfast was a hit with everyone. On top of helping the clowns, everyone got to experience the fun of camping and spend some time with family and friends,” Leanne added.

Situated only 12 minutes drive west of Maroochydore, BIG4 Forest Glen Holiday Resort is centrally located to stunning beaches and the peaceful coast hinterland.
